Missing letter blending practise PPT
A powerpoint presentation to practise letter recognition, phonics and reading. A compilation of easy reading CVC words with one letter missing. Students are called upon to identify the picutre (if they can) and the missing letter in the word. As an extension, children can write the complete word on the board.

Easy blending and reading PPT games
These are a set of easy and colourful powerpoints each containing one syllable or CVC word and are used together with dice or points cards, that are used to award team points. Points cards can be simple numbers on construction paper or can be more elaborate with pictures and various points-switching, all-points-erasing twists. Children are divided into teams and asked to raise their hand and blend the letters / read the word on the powerpoint. The student that does so then selects a card (cards are facing down). Their team is then awarded the given amount of points.
You can download the example points cards bellow, or make your own. The most succesful games include cards with points from 2 up, a special 10 points card, 10 points for all golden card, bomb card (erase one teams points), tornado card (erase everyone's points), switch card (switch points with another team), steal card (steal one team's points). Minus cards are not very popular with children but can be used too.

Point cards to be used together with powerpoint games. For durability stick back to colourful construction paper and laminate. To elimanate cheating, print front and back side and stick together.
